Guiller G. Gavino

Guiller Galas Gavino, 77 of Ewa Beach, Hawaii passed Sunday night, August 11, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.  Gil was born on August 20, 1941 in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, to David Gavino and Consolacion Galas Gavino. 

He graduated from National Technical College in Los Angeles CA in 1967.  He also graduated from New York Technical Institute Architectural Drafting and Engineering in 1974. 

Gil served in the U.S. Army (Co B 2nd Battalion 16th Infantry, Private First Class) from February 9, 1964 in Vietnam as a rifle soldier and was honorably discharged in 1967.  On April 8, 1966, he married Pacita Cabingabang in Los Angeles, California. 

Gil was employed as an electrical engineer and consulted on many projects, leading design teams for companies such as Disneyland and All Consulting Engineers.  He enjoyed drafting plans by hand and was excellent in his craft.  Gil enjoyed fishing, camping and watching boxing matches. 

Gil is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pacita Cabingabang Gavino; along with his three grown children, Ron Gavino and his wife Jonalyn of Wahiawa, HI, daughter Melissa Santiago and her husband Craig of Ewa Beach HI, and daughter Kristina del Mundo and her husband Ray of San Mateo, CA and his brother Roy Gavino and family of Honolulu, HI.  Gil has six grandchildren, Mariah Santiago, Maliah Santiago, Miley Santiago, Mia and Kaleb del Mundo, and Rian Gavino. 

Memorial services will be held at 6:30 pm, Friday, October 4, 2019 at Mililani Mortuary with Pastor Michael Abagon officiating.  The family will greet friends and family from 5:30 pm to 6pm on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Mililani Mauka Funeral Chapel.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society online.  Those wishing to sign the guest book may do so during services.
