Wilfredo 'Eddy' Alfaro

WILFREDO 'EDDY' ALFARO, 84  Beloved and devoted Husband, Dad and Grandpa. He passed away peacefully on July 8 surrounded by his loving family.

He emigrated from the Philippines to serve in the U.S. Navy, in the Vietnam war and later in the Federal service as a warehouse manager, working hard to provide his family a better life. He was the inspiration for each of his sons to follow in his footsteps to join the military in the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps.

Family was always at the forefront of his mind. He could be seen taking his loving wife shopping around the island and visiting family on the mainland.

He always loved playing cards which was not only fun, but also taught his kids to strategize, plan ahead, hope for some luck and in some cases make the best of the hand you're dealt. But it was mostly fun.

His granddaughters remember how he taught them about simple pleasures in life. Their favorite memories include him showing them how to be creative and play by playing badminton in the front yard and collecting the lost birdies on the roof, climbing on the roof to pick tangerines and lychees from the trees in the backyard, climbing trees in the park, spider fights and blowing up fire crackers on New Year's Eve. 

He is survived by his wife, Felisa, and his 3 sons: Alman, his wife Anita and daughter Alyssa; Raymond, his wife Imelda and daughters Marleia and Lorina; and Edwin.

Visitation will be 9:30 am Wednesday August 29, 2018 at St. John’s Apostle & Evangelist Catholic Church, 95-370 Kuahelani Avenue, Mililani, HI, 96789, followed by Mass at 10:30 am. Burial will be Wednesday August 29, 2018 at Schofield Barracks Post Cemetery (1640 Lyman Rd. Wahiawa, HI 96786).
