Rosalia Domingo Batacan

ROSALIA “Rose” DOMINGO BATACAN, 80 of Pearl City, HI, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2020.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband Sotero Batacan.

Rose was born on September 4, 1939 in Laoag City, Philippines and went on to graduate from Illocos Norte High School and the University of the East in Manila where she received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration.

Working from home long before coronavirus, she cared not only for her family, but also for those with intellectual disabilities as a care home operator for over 35 years.

Blessed with a beautiful voice, Rose also loved to sing. Among her favorites were ‘You Needed Me’ and all of The Carpenters’ songs.  She was happiest when talking with and being around family and friends.   She was all smiles as she FaceTimed with her grandsons and her dearest cousin Efren (and Fe Baria) in her last days. 

She always appreciated the wonderful care she received from her long-time physician Dr. Carlos Lam.  His compassionate care gave her many more years to create lasting memories.

Survivors include sister Nieves (Cirilo Jr.) Magaway; brother Rolando Domingo; beloved son and daughters Christopher (Elaine) Batacan, Gina (Bart) Kellner, Jennifer Batacan; three adored grandsons Matthew Batacan, Dillon Kellner, Dane Kellner, and cherished granddaughter Nina Batacan.  

Due to coronavirus, a private service will be held.
