Dear Valued Families and Patrons,
As the world confronts COVID-19, and the uncertainties that go along with it, we hope for your safety and wellbeing. As a dedicated community partner, Mililani Memorial is determined to do our part to slow down the spread of the coronavirus by complying with the guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The following paragraphs detail our current procedures and how they affect the families we serve. We will return to our normal procedures once we have been instructed by the CDC that it is safe to do so. These changes are being made with the safety, health and wellbeing of our community and the public.
All services, whether scheduled or not, to be held in our facilities, have been cancelled until further notice. As you may know, the CDC currently recommends no more than 10 people to be gathered at any time to minimize the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus. With that in mind, we have no other alternative but to delay services till all risks associated with the virus have been determined, and we are assured that it is once again safe to gather.
Families who wish to have a traditional burial, with the body present, are being asked to proceed with a private burial, followed by services once we are permitted to do so. These burials shall not be conducted with more than 10 (ten) people in attendance.
Families who wish to have a cremation done can still do so. All identifications will be done via photo through email. If a viewing is requested prior to cremation, embalming will be required as a safety precaution, and the number of attendees will remain at 10 (ten). For those families who are scheduling a Memorial Service with Mililani Memorial, we ask that the urn be taken home until the time when services are to be held.
Families who wish to send their loved ones off island or out of state may be permitted to do so, provided the airlines are still offering transportation of remains at the time of shipping. Currently, international shipping is NOT available.
All arrangements are being held via telephone until further notice. All forms and items requiring signature will be emailed, if available, or mailed by USPS. These forms need to be signed and returned as soon as possible. Should a family member have any questions regarding any of the forms, your Funeral Arranger will be available to assist.

We once again thank you for placing your trust in Mililani Memorial. These decisions were difficult for us make knowing that suffering the loss of a loved one is a very difficult time. We feel that it is our responsibility, though, to provide services in a safe atmosphere. There is no doubt that we are in uncharted territory, but of this we are certain: we will get through this, stronger and more resilient than ever.
Stay well and be safe,
The Management and Staff of Mililani Memorial.
