Jarand M.Y. Iwase

JARAND MARSHALL YOSHIJI IWASE was born on September 11, 1979. He passed away peacefully at his home in Las Vegas on May 20, 2018. Jarand was the second son of Randy and Jan Iwase. He attended Kipapa Elementary School and transferred to Iolani School during his sixth grade year where he was a member of the final all-boys class. Jarand loved all sports and played soccer, basketball and tennis as a youngster. He was a ranked player in junior tennis for singles and doubles and played on the Iolani and University of Hawaii tennis teams. As an adult, he continued to play tennis, bowled in various leagues, and golfed when he could. 

Jarand also coached youth soccer for many years from the time he was 12 years old. Recently he helped coach his nephews' soccer teams in Las Vegas. 

He loved his University of Hawaii Warriors, Notre Dame football, Duke basketball, the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland A's, Detroit Pistons, Manchester United and most recently, the Vegas Golden Knights. He was loyal to his teams and could be heard cheering them on enthusiastically. 

Jarand worked for many years at Pacific Transfer LLC, first as a packer during the summer and then moving up to manager. After relocating to Las Vegas three years ago, he was a realtor with Easy Street Realty.

Jarand is survived by his parents, Randy and Jan, his brothers, Justin and Jordan, nephews Jace and Jayden, grandmother Setsuko Amemiya, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be 5:30 pm Sunday July 8, 2018 at Mililani Memorial Park and Mortuary's Mauka Chapel followed by Celebration of Life at 6:30 pm.
